D1 Flag proudly joins the national effort to promote safety in youth sports, particularly in flag football. Flag football serves as an excellent introduction to the game for children, retaining all the excitement and camaraderie of traditional football while eliminating the risks associated with tackling. Unlike tackle football, flag football is a "no contact" game, focusing on skill and strategy where teams run or pass the ball downfield to score touchdowns. Defensive players aim to pull the flags off the ball carrier's belt instead of tackling, ensuring a safer playing experience. Once a flag is pulled, the player is considered "down", maintaining the competitive spirit while prioritizing player safety.
